Congratulations! Your buddy is giving away a pool table, you just have to move it.

Remember DMR to save the integrity of your free table.

D – Disassemble

Moving your table in one piece is asking for scuffs on the walls, door jams, and legs of the table itself. You are better off taking it apart. Be sure to catalog EVERY nut and bolt and take photos with your phone. You don’t want to be searching frantically through all the boxes you used to store the pieces during the move.

Take off the felt. Do this either to protect the felt and reuse it or because the felt is old and needs to be removed anyway. This the longest and more time-consuming part of the entire process. Hire a professional company like Mission Billiards and Barstools to re-felt your table.

M – Move it

Your pool table is REALLY heavy – around 800 pounds just for the slate. If you don’t have strong friends who are also careful not to damage things, call on a professional pool table mover. Professional movers have transported thousands of tables over decades. They know how to wrap and secure the table during travel.

R – Reassemble

We frequently move and replace pool tables when homeowners are changing the flooring under the table from carpet to tile or wood. One thing countless “helpful” friends have forgotten when moving a pool table, is to level it. Make sure the bubbles are between the lines when you place the level on several spots of the table after you have reattached the felt. Don’t give your pals any reason to blame their inability to play well.

Here at Mission Billiards and Barstools we pride ourselves in giving the ultimate in customer service, so we welcome your requests for a quote to move your pool table. Send a message to [email protected] or call us 949-636-1208.
